Stop Shipping Water: Revolutionize Lagoon Dredging with SLUSORB™

Turn Liquid Sludge into Haulable Solids in Minutes—Not Months,Drastically reduce disposal costs, protect your lagoon liners, and pass the EPA Paint Filter Test instantly.

Save on Transportation Costs
Since the treatment does not increase volume or weight, you can use standard dump trucks instead of costly vacuum tankers, significantly improving hauling efficiency.

Compliance & Environmental Safety

The solidified material does not leach and passes the Paint Filter Test, meeting landfill acceptance standards.

Protect Your Assets

Cleaning can be performed without draining the entire lagoon, and the polymer is non-corrosive, ensuring no damage to valuable clay or synthetic liners.

The Challenges

You Are Paying to Haul 90% Water.

Whether it's a municipal wastewater plant, an industrial settling pond, or an agricultural lagoon, sediment removal is a logistical questions.

-Exorbitant Hauling Costs: Vacuum trucks are expensive. hauling liquid sludge means you are paying to transport water.

-Landfill Rejection: Most landfills reject liquid waste that fails the Paint Filter Test.

-Inefficient Bulking Agents: Traditional methods like sawdust or wood chips increase waste volume by 100-200%, doubling your truckloads.

-Risk to Infrastructure: Lime and cement are heavy, alter pH, and generate heat (exothermic reaction) that can melt or damage expensive HDPE liners.

Our Solution: SLUSORB™

SLUSORB™ Polymer Technology-Lock Moisture. Solidify Waste. Simplify Disposal.

We utilize advanced Polymers specifically engineered for complex, high-salt sludge. Unlike sawdust which acts like a sponge, our polymers chemically cross-link with water molecules.

Action: Rapidly absorbs 200-300x its weight in water.

Result: Transforms liquid slurry into a soil-like, stackable solid.

Efficiency: Requires only 0.5% - 1.5% dosage by weight.

How It Works

From liquid to solid, only three simple steps:

1. Pumping/Dredge: Pump the sediment from the lagoon bottom to the mixing zone (or mix in situ).

2. Mixing: Add a polymer solidifying agent at a very low ratio (typically only 0.5% - 1% by weight of the sludge). No complex dewatering machinery is required; simple mixing equipment suffices.

3. Solidify: Within minutes to hours, the mixture locks in moisture through a chemical cross-linking reaction. The treated product passes the EPA Paint Filter Test, with no further free liquid seepage.

Applications

Mechanical Dredging Sludge Management:Rapid solidification of thick sludge generated from mechanical excavation and suction operations.

Hydraulic Dredging Slurry Treatment:Handling high-water-content slurry discharged from hydraulic dredge pumps and pipeline systems.

Dewatering Bag Integration:Used in conjunction with dewatering bags to accelerate flocculation and improve dewatering rates.

Emergency Response: Spill Containment, rapidly immobilizes the fluid, preventing runoff into waterways and simplifying the cleanup of the spilled material.

Ecosystem Restoration & Beneficial Reuse:repurposing solidified dredged material for beneficial use in wetland restoration, island creation, slope stabilization, and structural backfill.

FAQs

  • 1. Is it suitable for all types of lagoon dredging waste?

SLUSORB™ effectively solidifies a wide range of water-based lagoon dredging materials, including sediments, sludge, and organic matter. However, performance (absorption rate and speed) may vary depending on solids content, conductivity (ionic strength), and sludge composition. Our technical team can evaluate your waste samples and advise whether the product suits your specific lagoon-cleanout project.

  • 2. What advantages does it offer compared to traditional dewatering technologies?

Faster solidification → Reduces free water and leachate, minimizing reliance on heavy equipment such as centrifuges and filter presses. Lower weight/volume → Decreases hauling and disposal costs. Stabilizes contaminants → Reduces environmental and compliance risks during handling and disposal.

  • 3.What is the usage dosage?

It depends on the sludge's moisture content and composition. Typical dosage ranges from 0.5% to 1.5%. Compared to sawdust, which often requires 50%–100%, this results in substantial cost savings.

  • 4.How long does solidification take?

The reaction begins almost instantly. In most cases, material reaches a shovel-ready and transportable state within 15–30 minutes after mixing.

  • 5.Is it safe for lagoon liners?

Absolutely. Unlike lime, the polymer reaction does not generate heat, so it will not melt HDPE liners or alter pH levels that could damage clay liners.

  • 6.Will the treated material be accepted by landfills?

Yes. Our polymer is engineered to pass the EPA 9095B Paint Filter Liquids Test, which is the standard requirement for landfill acceptance.
